Day 17

Have you ever lived through a storm, survived a tornado or endured the ravages of a hurricane? Storms are difficult to navigate because we just aren't sure what is going to happen in the midst of it. All we can do is pray. Pray, what an idea. Ask God for peace in the midst of the storm. Ask for protection in the middle of devastation. Does it work? Ask the men on the boat with Jonah. The only thing that could still the storm they were in, was praying to the right God and doing the right thing. Storms don't cease unless your willing to do what God is asking you to. As soon as those men quit trying to give safe passage to an individual that was trying to run away from God, their storm stopped. We have to understand that God doesn't intend for storms to destroy us, but He uses them to help direct us. It was the storm that helped Jonah get back on the right coarse and it was a storm that caused the disciples to see Jesus in a way they had never seen Him before.

But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, “Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?” Matthew 8:26-27

So if there has been a storm in your life, just continue to pray with expectation, because you are about to experience the Glory of God in a way you have never experienced it before!
