Day 19

Hunger demands a response. When a baby is hungry he lets everyone around him know. He doesn't care where he is at, or what you are doing. You can be in the middle of a wedding, a funeral, or a church service, that baby is going to continue to cry until someone satisfies his hunger. Why then do we suppress our hunger? I'm not talking about for a bologna sandwich, I'm talking about our hunger for the living God. Do you remember what Jesus said?

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, For they shall be filled." Matthew 5:6

When we get hungry God responds. However, we must make our hunger heard.

As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God. When can I go and stand before him? Day and night I have only tears for food... Psalm 42:1-3 NLT

You can't keep a lid on hunger like that, even natural hunger will make your stomach growl. So go ahead, don't hold back, give voice to your hunger. Let the Lion Roar! God is inviting you to a table He has spread for the hungry soul.

“Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink—even if you have no money! Come, take your choice of wine or milk—it’s all free! Why spend your money on food that does not give you strength? Why pay for food that does you no good? Listen to me, and you will eat what is good. You will enjoy the finest food. “Come to me with your ears wide open. Listen, and you will find life. I will make an everlasting covenant with you. I will give you all the unfailing love I promised to David.
