Day 17 - Insta Friends

READ Proverbs 17

Ever had an Insta friend? You know, that person you don’t really know, perhaps never even met, but you like each others pictures and you would sooo be friends if he/she didn’t live in Montana. It’s usually harmless on social media, but how often do our actual friendships resemble this kind of bare minimum relationship? Sure you might keep in touch and hang out occasionally, but it’s really hard to be a real friend even for the best of friends. Few are really good at it.

Proverbs 17:17 says, “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.” We want and expect this from our friends, but how often do we give it to others?

If you want to have good friends then learn to be a good friend by being loyal…don’t flake out when it gets tough or when your friends need your help. Meaningful friendships are built over time, especially hard times.

Are you a loyal or lousy friend? Would you want to be friends with someone like you? It’s time spend time being a real friend to those in your life.

PRAY that the Lord would make you a loyal friend who other people can rely on.
