Day 21 - Give or Take

READ Proverbs 21

You know the type. The friend who hitches a ride off your hard work without ever lifting a finger their self. The person who eats your food and leaves the dishes, or the guy who copies your homework after you’ve spent hours doing it the night before. People that constantly take and never give.

Proverbs 21:25-26 reads,

“Despite their desires, the lazy will come to ruin, for their hands refuse to work. Some people are always greedy for more, but the godly love to give!”

Some proof that you’re following Jesus is that you’re more of a giver than a taker; generous and not greedy. By living this way, we are following the example of Jesus who generously gave all He had – even His own life – to others.

Even if you have no money you can be generous with your time, effort, and encouragement.

Are you more concerned with how much you get than how much you give? Is your attitude one of greed or generosity? You have a choice to make the next time God is asking you to give to someone , ‘will I be generous or greedy?’. Living generous lives not only blesses others and glorifies God, it blesses us too…it is more blessed to give than it is to receive!

PRAY and ask God to give you an opportunity to be generous today and then follow through when that time comes!
