Day 24 - Clique

READ Proverbs 24

“Be not envious of evil men, nor desire to be with them, for their hearts devise violence, and their lips talk of trouble.” Proverbs 24:1-2

Ever been in this situation?...

It’s Monday morning at school and your friends are talking about all that they got into this weekend. Some of it is great, some of it is not so great (and definitely not something that Jesus would be excited about). And even though you know better, the thought comes to your mind, “that sounds like so much fun” or, “I wish I could do that just one time.”

So often it isn’t that we don’t know what Jesus wants for us, it’s that peer pressure gets the better of us. 1 Corinthians 15:33 says, “Bad company ruins good morals.” Who you hang out with says a lot about who you are and who you are going to be. It is so important to have friends that help you follow Jesus because, for a moment, those stories of the weekend can sound like a blast. But a life spent not following Jesus only leads to a broken and empty heart. Sometimes it just takes someone to remind you.

If you are not opening up in a Small Group, do it! Nothing can help like having someone older to look up to and friends who want to see you succeed in following Jesus.

PRAY and ask God to surround you with true friends, friends that want what is best for you and that help you follow Jesus.
