Day 15 - Be Cool

READ Proverbs 15

Most of us have witnessed a fight at some point in our lives (most likely on Vine if nowhere else). People are drawn to fights, its like the train wreck you can’t stop watching – but they are much less fun to be a part of.

Never been in a fight? Have you ever talked back to your parents/authority? Ever held a grudge against somebody even if you never told them? Call that whatever you want, but it’s fighting. And its a problem.

“A hot-tempered person starts fights; a cool-tempered person stops them” Proverbs 15:18

As Christians, if a physical or verbal fight is going down, we should be the person bringing a resolution, not the person hurling physical or verbal abuse. How can we do this? The first verse in the chapter says, “A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare”. Flares are never cool when we’re talking about jeans or tempers. So be cool.

With Jesus we are not just peacekeepers, but peaceMAKERS. Peacekeepers react to change, peacemakers bring the change. Christians don’t just prevent division, they bring unity.

PRAY and ask God to help you bring about unity and not division with your friends, at home, and at your school.
