Day 18 - That's Word

READ Proverbs 18

This is going to be a little weird, but think about a life without your tongue. Without it, you wouldn’t be able to taste, talk, and so much for ice cream cones. According to Proverbs 18:21, there’s an even greater use for our tongues...“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”

No, this does not mean that you can cast Harry Potter spells with your tongue. But it does mean that you can bring a great deal of help or hurt – both to others and to yourself – with the words you allow to roll off your tongue.

Are the words you say bringing life or death to you and those around you? Are you in the habit of speaking negatively or positively about people? Our words really are powerful and they matter. Use them to build people up and not tear them down. That’s word.

PRAY that the Lord would help you use your tongue wisely by choosing to speak words that bring life and not death.
